off the island

Hi guys!

My name is Jeff Heimbuch. I may have spoken to some of you before.
As some of you may know, I've been working on a Lost fan film the past few months entitled "Off The Island."
Here's a brief sysnopsis:
Chase Jackson is a private investigator who does a damn good job of finding people.
But when he finds out that his brother, Scott Jackson, has disappeared on Oceanic Flight 815, things begin to change.
A mysterious stranger shows up with some startling answers.
A computer dominates his life.
A very menacing organization is hunting him down.
And just how far will Chase go to save his brother's life?
The film takes place between Day One through Day Twenty-Seven.

The reason I'm emailing you today is because we just finished shooting, and have a bunch of news to give out to the public.

The official release date for "Lost - Off The Island" is November 15th, 2006, at 9 PM Eastern time.

It will be distributed uninterrupted on http://www.bamferproductions.com
It will also be on http://youtube.com/profile?user=bamfer23, but will be available in segments there.

It will also premiere at William Paterson University in Wayne, NJ on Friday November 17th, 2006. There will be a screening, a Q&A with the cast and crew, bloopers, food, and so on. If you are interested in going to this event, please email me at jeff@bamferproductions.com. Also, I will post more information when it is closer to that day.

The Ecological Community Development Project website will be up and running Oct. 9th, 2006, and will be located at www.ecdproject.com. I will repost the link again when the site is open.

The trailer we just released is Teaser Trailer #2, and is located at:

And for those of you who missed out on it the first time, here is the first Teaser Trailer released in July 2006.

And for those of you still sticking around, here's a little sneak peek of a rough cut of one of the scenes.

You can visit the production journal for updates and so on at http://www.bamferproductions.com/lostjournal

Hope you enjoy!

lost fan film

Howdy folks,
I posted here awhile ago about the Lost fan film I am doing called "Off The Island."
Well, yesterday was our first day of shooting, and it's looking great. Check out some of the photos from the set at my production journal

I can't wait to get this done, and show it to all you guys!

Aug. 15th, 2006

I made new wallpapers. One of Charlie and one of Claire. ( You may view them by clicking here. )

Shall the countdown begin?

Howdy all.

Lost Season 3 is only 50 days away (in US/Canada)! Okay so maybe its 51. But 50 SOUNDS better.
This is probably a very loserish thing to do, but I started my marathon yesterday. I'm rewatching (yet again) the Season 1 dvds, so I'll hopefully be done in time for the release of Season 2 (mark your calendars for Sept. 5!), to hopefully, in turn, finish that before October 3. That's a lot of television.
This is mainly a note to welcome everybody back, and remind you that although many cobwebs may have developed, our tiny little community is not dead.
Any speculations for season 3? I, for one, am excited about a certain few spoilersCollapse ).
Well, get talking, and stuff..

My name is Jeff. I'm 22. I'm a film major at William Paterson University.
I've lurked here for some time.

This is one of the most active communities about LOST, so I thought I would come here, and various other places, for help.

We have a long way to go until next season. Though the entire summer is supposed to be filled with the Lost ARG, who knows what sort of new information we will get from that.

So, here's my idea. I'm going to make a short film based in the Lost universe over the summer.

I know Lost is a very close knit show, and I understand that the writers don't want any new "answers" to explain any of the mysteries they already have in place.

So, my idea was to have the short NOT take place on the island. It would be about one of the survivor's relatives. And how the crash of Flight 815 changed THEIR life.

Sure, some of you may cry foul. "Off the island, that's blasphemous!" "You'll ruin the mythos!" Things along those lines. However, I plan on staying 100% faithful to the subject matter and not messing anything up that has been already established.

For qualifications, yes, I am a film student. I'm 22. I've been making short movies since I was 12. Sure, not all of my films are good. Some suck. Others are amazing. I've won a few awards. I'm the president of the Student Film Association at William Paterson. I have a background in Film & TV Production. I have access to high end camera equipment. This stuff is my life. I live, breathe, and sleep making movies.

So, the main purpose of this post is to ask for help. I want people who truly love this show to help me shape it into form. Are you an actor? Great! Like set design? Fantastic! Want to be crew? Awesome!

Being as how I live in New Jersey, people who would like to act and be on the crew and so on would have to live here or be willing to travel. Also, being as how this is a "fan film" per se, no one will be making any money on it, so I'm sorry, but I can't compensate you for anything you may contribute.

I would seriously love true, die hard fans of the show to help me on this.
I've already written a script, first draft of course, that will go through a few rewrites. But I believe what I wrote is a strong story, and truly fits into the Lost mythos. It doesn't mess up what is already there, but it truly supplements it.

So, if you are interested in helping, hearing more, or just want to bitch me out, PLEASE e-mail me at jeff@bamferproductions.com

You can post back here too, of course, since I'm always lurking around here.

So...yea. That's about it for now. I hope some of you would like to help in this.!

- Jeff
