So... I don't even want to watch anymore.

That seriously hurt. A lot.

Okay, so now I hate those two new characters. I gave the writers leeway for pulling off the most awkward introduction scene evar, but after this week, I am really not enjoying them at all. Neither are compelling, that Paolo guy's whole schtick is to be miserable all the time.

But what killed it for me is that you realize that they, as a couple, are there as exposition. They're there to say "Oh what's the Dharma project?" "It's this big project built on this Island in the 1970s to study psychology and other related things." "You mean other people know about this island?" "Yes, there was even a big slave-trade sailboat on here some where!"

Grrrr I hate them.

And I... miss... Eko... already.

Also, I have issue with the smoke being the monster that physically manipulates things. That... makes no sense.

Yeah, those two are so obvious and transparent, it's pathetic.

What's happened to the writers on this show? Honestly. It's gotten so, so bad. -_-

I'm gonna wear black for the next week, for Eko, and for the show.

Honestly, the rest of the show has been pretty good. The Three on Hydra Islan (as I'm calling it) has been some bitchin' stuff, and Hunter-Locke makes me happy.

And at least Eko's death had some sort of completion for the character. His was one of those types of deaths that was the eventual end to his own arc. It's just sad that Bernard is the only surviving tailie now.

I almost think that this six-episode mini-season is the reason it's been rather crappy.

I didn't think it had completed at all, though... Just like Ana Lucia's death, it opened even more doors for me. I just saw so much potential with his character, especially the dynamic between him, Locke, and Desmond, that this was a severe disappointment.

I completely agree, don't worry.

But at the same time, at least they didn't just, y'know, shoot him in the jungle for no good reason. At least there was something of a good reason... y'know? He finds the salvation he was looking for.

when will they start up with new episodes after the new one this week? sometime in the next decade please?
Nov. 3rd, 2006 01:50 am (UTC)
Some time in January or February. Luckily, that means that we're getting 17 straight episodes, though, so there will probably be less "Let's cram all this crap really quickly into one episode" and more "Let's pace ourselves like we know we should" and so we won't have stupid expository characters show up with no warning and be shoved down our throats.

Also, look forward to webisodes featuring the cast to tide us over until then.

the show's still good they just have NO talent for new characters.

they are good at killing off characters who we need to know more about!

libby-mental institution
eco-no one else saw the smoke

I think it's interesting that Locke saw a beautiful white light when he saw the monster and Eko saw a demon. But it still bugs the F*** out of me that it looks like smoke and you can hear a change. ARG!!! I so want to know what it is. And I've been waiting to see it since the second episode.

On the other hand I think Eko's death was needed. They haven't really killed anyone off that big to the story and Eko was because he was involved with the plane, he had the other part of the film that Locke had. It's upsetting though. He was interesting.

I was wondering where the new characters were. There was a TV guide article about the three new people. And I hadn't seen them yet. But I don't think I like them either. They were boring and stupid.
Nov. 2nd, 2006 03:57 am (UTC)
Yeah. They had the single worst introduction of a new character since Oliver on the Brady Bunch. And they keep getting force on us.

But ONE EYED MAN ONE EYED MAN ONE EYED MAN! I'm sorry, even with that happening (the stupid Paolo going to the washroom inexplicably), the fact that thre is a ONE EYED MAN makes the show that. much. better.
Nov. 2nd, 2006 03:59 am (UTC)
can I just sound stupid and ask if there was a mention of a one eyed man somewhere that I'm forgetting?
Nov. 2nd, 2006 04:10 am (UTC)
Yeah man, on the television in the Pearl Station. The camera pans across, and BOOM ONE EYED MAN and he shuts off the TV.
Nov. 2nd, 2006 04:12 am (UTC)
ok I have to go back and rewatch that. That's what happens when my husband calls me on his break. Oh well.
Nov. 2nd, 2006 11:52 pm (UTC)
yup. Throw in a guy with an eyepatch, that'll help the (already abnormally high) ratings!
Nov. 2nd, 2006 04:00 am (UTC)
I am sick and tired of this constant killing off of our characters.

I don't want to repeat myself as I already posted my venting in my journal earlier today. If you want to read it, you are welcome to it:

Nov. 2nd, 2006 11:51 pm (UTC)
I read your ranting at your journal and agree on everything! except for that i dont like benry..

but yeah, where are Rose and Bernard? What happened to Libby in the mental ward? What the fuck in general???

man, I hate/love this show!
Nov. 2nd, 2006 11:46 pm (UTC)
simple question worth asking:

why didnt they see the other island on one of their many trips around the original island?

Nov. 3rd, 2006 01:56 am (UTC)

Especially since, if you plot out where they would have been walking (when looking at the sea on the Losties camp, Sayid went to the left, and the Tailies were walking along the same shoreline) and where their parts of the plane landed, they'd be walking along the shore which would be facing Dharma Isle.

WELL, maybe it's the command centre for the Dharma Initiative, and so it is hidden in much the same way as The Island is hidden from the rest of the world?
